Meet Heidi New
Meet Heidi New, WCCP Soprano 2
Tell us what you're
passionate about.
"I am truly passionate about music and
teaching children about music. It truly gives me joy to see my passion for the
arts transfer into young minds. I also really love to perform. I would
definitely do more of it if I had the time."
What is your
occupation/profession?
"I am hopefully returning as the music
teacher at Doyle Elementary School. I should be hearing whether or not that is
the case in the next couple of weeks! Fingers crossed!!"
Have a hobby?
"Well....I love to play piano and sing (duh).
When I have the time I LOVE reading almost anything. Right now I'm reading a
book about classroom management.....more entertaining than you might think! I
also love to Bullet Journal. Any organization nerds like me need to look it up.
I would be lost without it!"
What do you
consider your most notable achievements?
"This year I wrote my first song ever
and had all of the children at Doyle sing it at the 50th anniversary of the
school! I also was able to play Hansel in the opera Hansel and Gretel in
college. I attribute a lot of my growth vocally to that show!"
Do you have a
charity suggestion we can keep in mind?
"I loved the ALS charity we supported. A
good family friend of ours had ALS and I think anything we can do to support
that cause is admirable. I'd also love to support an organization like VH1
Saves the Music that helps schools fund music programs across the country!"
Skills, services,
goods available to other in WCCP?
"I'm SUPER organized to a fault.
According to my first graders I'm good at teaching quarter notes, the silent
note, AND I tell good jokes. I'm a really good listener and love to learn more
about people!
Favorite
book?
"This might be the hardest question on
this survey. Harry Potter is always my go to. I was Hermione Granger for Halloween
this year. I think my favorite non-series book would be Bel Canto by Ann
Patchett. Great realistic fiction."
